Moritz Takes the
Stand: Healing in the Courtroom |

Recently, Moritz received an extraordinary letter. It's
from Joyce, a woman who is starting to use Berners to
help children testify in courtrooms. The presence of a
friendly, familiar dog can help alleviate the child's
nervousness and let them feel safe.

School Adventures |
|
|
|
Recently, Moritz and I have been going to local schools
and libraries, encouraging kids to read. Our visits have
been great successes both with students and teachers.

Moritz Knows |
|
|
Moritz and I visited an
elementary school in Kalispell.
We received a large reception of gracious children and
caring teachers and adults. I read A Gift to Share
and was surprised how much everyone liked it as well as
how much I had forgotten about the book. I thought to
myself this is a good book.
I spoke of Moritz' awareness, his sense of appropriate
action, of how one really needs to pay attention to him
as his action is subtle. He was not a dog to do tricks
and entertain...he was something else.
